What are the system requirements?

In order to run Kuriuz File Finder you need:

  • Operating System: Windows 7 or Higher (32 or 64 bit)
  • .NET Framework: 4.0 or Higher (Windows PCs normally have this pre-installed)
  • Hard Disk: About 20 MB for installation. An extra 50 MB for the file Index (version 1.5 and above)
  • RAM Memory: At least 250 MB free memory is recommended.
  • Priviledges: For installing you may need an Administrative user account. For searching any user is ok, but restricted folders will not be searched.

Can I use Kuiruz in a Business or Corporate Network?

Kuriuz is free for personal/home use.

If you wish to use it in a business environment you need to purchase a commercial license

How fast does it search?

It depends on your processor's speed and system memory. On a 4GB RAM, 2.6 Ghz PC and about 1GB worth of files it takes 1 minute for a full text search and about 1 second for a filename search.

Note that it doesn't use an Index, so it is slower than other programs that use an Index.

BUT! Since it scans the files real-time it is 100% accurate, not needing to re-index new or modified files.

If you narrow the search it will find what you want pretty fast.

NEW! Version 1.5 has optional Indexing, so searching is 50x faster.

Can it find any file on my PC?

Yes.

You can also restrict to only look for certain file extensions.

Note that for security reasons if your User Account doesn't have access to certain folders or files, those are not searched.

What languages are supported?

The interface comes in English only (more languages coming soon)

But you can search files and contents in any language, including non-Latin characters like Asian or Middle-Eastern
